GALLERY MANAGER
Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI) is looking for a gallery manager with prior experience to join our team full time. The role encompases experience with logistics and management of the galleries exhibition space.

2-3 years’ experience working in an art institution/gallery

Based in Nairobi

Have a demonstrable interest in art, and knowledge of the East African art scene
-
Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relations with artists, exhibition visitors, students etc
-
Detail oriented and with a high level of organisational skills to manage, plan schedules etc
-
Excellent administrative and communications skills, both written and verbal
-
Experience of working in collaboration with peers and institutions
-
Experience of setting and monitoring budgets
-
Excellent ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritise within a busy working environment
-
Strong ability to build team-spirit in the work place
-
Confident working independently but also as part of a small team

Experience of managing staff
CURATOR
Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI) is looking for a curator to join our team full time. The curator will work closely with the team to plan and execute 4 exhibitions a year at NCAIs gallery space.

Educated to degree level or equivalent.

3-5 years’ proven track record of leading curatorial projects and commissioning new work

Knowledge of contemporary arts and curatorial practices, with a strong interest in local and international artists

Experience of working directly with artists, supporting them in the development of their research or the creation of new work

Experience of working in collaboration with peers and institutions

A proven track record of fundraising

Experience of setting and monitoring budgets

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
-
Excellent ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritise within a busy working environment

Strong ability to build team-spirit in the work place
-
Confident working independently but also as part of a small team
