About the event
Rather than focusing solely on traditional art criticism, we'll think together about how writing can be a tool for understanding visual experiences.
Together, we'll examine how language can capture, interpret, and respond to the visual world around us. Participants will experiment with various forms and approaches—from descriptive passages and creative responses to conceptual explorations and hybrid forms that blur the boundaries between visual and textual expression. We'll consider questions such as: How does writing help us see differently? What happens when we translate visual experience into language? How can experimental writing forms mirror or complement artistic processes?
The workshop welcomes writers at all stages of their practice who are curious about engaging with art through writing. No prior experience writing about art is required—only an openness to exploration and a willingness to experiment with new approaches to both seeing and language.
