About the event

To examine the oeuvres of both Donald Judd and Mona Hatoum, is to slide into a skid - slow things down - and think. The [art] historians among us, are thinking about restitution and repatriation, while others among us, are placing both feet firmly into the 21st Century’s artistic canons. Within this vein, we can talk about objects. The importance of objects - and how, or whether or not, “museuming” (pronounced - muszchmooming) needs a reform.

Perhaps towards an African existentialist, experience, which remains vigilant of both past and present? What [Kenyan] space would that create? What could this be? Come to NCAI, and let’s put our heads together. Thinking about transforming and/or illuminating, whatever conceptual or physical phenomenon persists, we think as both followers and leaders, as we move towards an African, and well-informed life experience.

We can grab the bucket, soap and brush, and scrub off the dirt…
